The Role
 
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Irish tax regulations, accounting standards, and business compliance requirements. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, handling tax filings, and helping to provide insightful business advice.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in compliance with Irish GAAP.
• Management of clients' tax returns (Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.).
• Advise clients on tax planning, minimisation strategies, and compliance with Irish tax legislation.
• Assist clients with Revenue audits and queries.
• Conduct regular reviews of clients' financial performance and provide actionable insights.
• Support clients with bookkeeping, payroll services, and management accounting.
• Liaise with clients and third parties, including banks, solicitors, and Revenue.
• Ensure deadlines are met and that clients are kept up to date with their obligations.
 
Requirements:
• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Irish accounting practice.
• Strong knowledge of Irish taxation and compliance rules (Income Tax, VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Surf Accounts, etc.).
• Proficiency in Practice software (e.g. ROS, CORE, RBO, Relate/Sage Accounts Production)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and work to tight deadlines.
 
Desirable:
• Experience in managing audits and dealing with Revenue Commissioners.
• Track record in client management and business advisory.
